Let me hold you, just a little bit longer...

Let me hold you.. just a little bit longer...
Let me know you,..just a little bit more...
Let my thirst become fully quenched,
Let me share your sun-drenched shore....
I love you...I truly love you...
Take my heart, its yours !!
I am a pedestrian on your avenue...
You look and my heart soars...
Come to me, now... here, in our bed...
Give me that secret smile, that look of yes....
Your smokey eyes, your lips of red...
Our passion rises with each caress...
Hold me Darling, hold me tight...
Hold back the night, hold back the fright...
Larry

Nicely done, Larry - did you ever write for Dr Hook & the Medicine Show ;)
Seriously though, I enjoyed this one.
Maven,
Wow! I loved the poem. It's passionate and so real. You surprised me. Bravo and thumbs up!
Absolutely awesome, my friend Larry.
Thanks.
Hi Sir Larry... If you are going to continue to write like this; then you will need to get a Vacancy/No Vacancy sign at your front gate; as there will be a procession of women beating their way to your door! And you know what that can do for your fishing!! lol.
Nicely done my friend - a welcome glimpse of a true heart. Thanks for sharing your talents.
(I believe the ETA of the first coachload will be 2.00am tommorrow morning!) Tight.... tights!
hi, Larry. loved the poem. am just curious why you wrote it?
Hi Larry, This is very beautiful. Thank you for sharing the sensitive and vulnerable side of yourself. Reminds me of a line from W.H. Auden - We must love one another or die. Go well my friend. Russ
Excellent poem, my friend. I enjoyed it. Thanks for providing this pleasure.
To be held, to hold, to enclose with and be enclosed by arms, to share warmth and space. Thanks for sharing this work of warmth and security
Did you watch the English Patient, something about this reminds me of that film. Passion wanting, needing holding loving...... and also inevitable ending, maybe in death. It was well written, thankyou
A passionate poem full of red lips and smokey eyes that tell of love - full, rich, sensual love, the best kind there is!
Thanks for sharing this side of you which I haven't felt was fully exposed before - hinted at, perhaps.
Love and peace
Tony
Wow, this was the nicest thing anyone has said to me all day. LOL.
Like a faithful Marine...your forever love knows you will stand by her...and what's more...You always want to be by her side...and can't ever get enough of being with her! Well done!
I better not let the wife read this one...or she'll wonder why I can't write this kind of stuff...this good :) Later, my friend!
This is nice Larry! concise and very passionate and sweet. You might like the movie "In the Mood For Love" a Chinese (subtitles) film and I forget the name of director - but I loved it and it was not about eroticism as much as about the connection between man and woman - and beautifully designed and filmed.
Well Larry...I don't know about all that femininin'ine stuff you're saying...but I do feel as though "Men" should front a more compassionate approach to to alot more stuff on this planet. Maybe...if real men step up to the plate concerning peace, planet resources, dialogue between known enemies, helping a neighbor, etc. then a little compassion...would do a whole lot of good! (Spoken from a Poet's Heart!) Later...my good friend!
Amen to that...and that was a pretty slick trick there Marine...getting me to rifle back a comment...Ha! MPM
Thank you for a beautiful poem Larry, thank you for sharing. Godspeed. creativeone59
"that look of yes" is so erotic. finally, the soft underbelly of the porcupine is laid bare!!! Good for you, Larry. Marine training doesn't include sharing your vulnerability. Though I read, I am a bad hubber because I infrequently comment. I have resolved to interact within the Hub community more. I was oblivious to hubivity before my recent return from my protracted "HUB hiatus". To just hold a hand, I long.
I'm tired of sleeping alone. Cheers.
Maven's back. And how. Very nice.
Nicely done.
I must confess, this has my heart a flutter with warm, fuzzy feeling inside. Marvelous poetry Maven!! Thank you -- I think you've cured me!! :)
Hi Larry,
Just surfing my favorite Hubs and this is one of them because of the sincerity of your love expressed. Cheers.
This is absolutely beautiful. Thank you - Thank you.
Larry ...... i don't know whats more rare, you posting a new hub, or me reading one. I've read your first 9 many times over. all to me true works of art . poetry at its best. as i sit here thinking of the praise i wish to shower you with. i can only muster this. its really good to read you Larry. Thank you. Ray
Very beautiful poem. Full of passion and love, very nicely expressed.
No we didn't, did we. Should we reopen the investigation? Peace and love to you too, dear friend. . .Wendy
Lovely poem maven101, so sweet and tender, thank you.
Very nice!! I really enjoyed reading it :D Passionate as well
l love your poem will now read more of your hubs, thanks for this wonderful poem
You now have a loyal follower
Wow this is profound, I love how this intensifies through each stanza and fits perfectly with your images
Larry, this is such a wonderful, wonderful poem! So passionate and tender!! Thank you!!
Hey Larry - just came back to read this again :) Everything OK? I see you've not written much here of late.
Very nice who amoung us has not whispered these same thoughts within our soul...
What a pleasant surprise to discover the soft side of you. Mostly through your comments on hubs I was seeing only the super intellectual and lucid man you allowed us to know (which by the way I truly enjoy). Thank you Larry for this great poem and the revelation that brings with it.
Larry ~ This was truly beautiful! Your wife is a lucky girl.............. thanks for sharing; I enjoyed ~ Kaie
So beautiful!I love it when people love each other so well. God Bless you!
lovely images~
I really liked the sharing of her sun-drenched shore, warm intimate connotations.
Great Larry, I think I could learn allot from you. J.stump
It is a very romantic poem..i like this kind of thoughts..Love is really become my religion now..
Love and bed poetry is a much abused and over used topic. The flow and the fact that you didn't describe love more then express your feelings or someone's feelings for the woman or the sea in question cleared you of the charge of repeating other's words more beautifully.
So happy you recovered lol Your words of guidance have turned the majority of my poems from wishful concepts to sharpened tacks.
I truly enjoyed that Larry, so soft, sweet, sensuous and a little sad.
Bravo Maven! A man who can bare his soul with his words is a rare find indeed!
It is my pleasure to follow-
I don't know much about poetry but it doesn't take literary learning to know passion. My wife read this and was 'a-mush'. I just made that up. The word 'a-mush' I mean. My wife really did read it and she was well, moved, okay? As was I, if I have to admit it!
So, okay then, um-hum, great job!
Beautiful, I love poems about love. I shall be back to read some more. Thank you Maven101.
Went down like the best Scotch with a passionate burn to my starving-soul.
The smooth comfort of togetherness, a little skin for my friend, please. Thank you. :)
Just stopped by again to read these lovely words and to leve another note of appreciation, Larry. Thanks for sharing this tender - feminine? - side of yourself!
Love and peace
Tony
A moment Sir,
I feel a need
for my verse
seems to have gone wrong
or something bleeds
for the words
written recently
are met with silence
is there aught wrong with them or me?
Wonderful words, wonderful pictures, wonderful sentiments - in short Maven; CLASS! Loved this and I SO like your profile - really - you sound like a fantastic guy with a pretty-much permanent smile. Thanks for finding my words so I could find yours - and apologies if I've already said that to you!
I love it! Keep up the good work!
I thought this was awesomely beautiful! Great job!
"Let me share your sun-drenched shore" -- my favorite, though many simple yet elegant lines are found here. Good read. Thanks for checking out my stuff as well, maven. Let's keep doing what we do.
This is beautiful Maven - well said I would be back to read some more!
Maven, With all these comments I am obviously running behind, but that poem was beautifully passionate and I loved it. It really is excellent.
The poem was beautiful, and the last picture, especially, seemed to bring a perfect visual to the depth of love expressed.
You are a very talented man, apparently married to an amazing woman! I'm looking forward to reading more of your work.
To Love is to breath
To Love is to live
To love is to be one together, embraced, entwined
To love is to be deeply soulful
To love is to die in each others arms
To love is eternal
You captured LOVE and it is yours both forever. Lovely poetic and brilliant. Rated UP and up some more..
Okay, I admit it...my pulse is racing! Passion and lovemaking, they were definitely meant to go hand-in-hand. Thank you for this lovely description of it :)
What a beautiful poem!
Hi maven... this poem is simply beautiful. You are amazing.
Look at how many fans you have! Your poetry obviously strikes a chord! Oh that I had more time to read every poem! BUT - I sure am going to try. I especially love this line:
"I am a pedestrian on your avenue..."
Perfection!
Such a passionate, evocative poem, you sir, breathe life into the words.
Your wordplay is wonderful, you work on everyday images but with an interesting twist.
I liked it enough to take the time to scroll all the way down to leave a comment:)
... just a little bit longer ...
Something I think every one can identify with. Beautifully done Larry. :)
Good morning Larry. "Let my thirst become fully quenched,"
speaks to such an essential need. "Hold back the night, hold back the fright..." speaks to the primitive intimacy of shared fears which rise with the moon each night. The tenderness of your heart shared here deserves to be let loose more often. Thank you my friend.
