Haiku Quintus...A tribute to Russ Baleson
61By: Larry L. Conners
Wandering through Hub Pages one day I came across a marvelous Hub by Russ Baleson describing the ancient Japanese art of Haiku...A poetic form that basically conforms to a three line poem following a 5-7-5 syllabic meter...the form requires intense concentration and disparate expression.
I humbly offer these five Haiku in thanks to Russ for exposing me to this wonderful art form that seems such a natural expression of every day occurrences that many times our deafened ears do not hear, or our jaded eyes do not see...What a wonderful world we live in, so much beauty and timeliness, so much we take for granted.... Larry
Haiku Passion
Monsoon rain pours down
Cacti reaching for the sky
Life another day
Haiku Love
Your hand on my knee
The car moves across the land
Your touch is so dear
Haiku Earth
Silent mountains dwell
Neath blankets of green and white
Secrets there, I know
Haiku Sunrise
Red and blue fingers
Grasping the world in its fist
Good Morning is here !!
Haiku Sunset
The brightest at death
Colors swarm, warm, give its gift
Accepted, with thanks

excellent hub again thumbs up...
your simple words
lingers somewhere deep down.
Mesmerized time stops.
Your's is the first Haiku I've ever read. A subtle, beautiful, and touching experience.
Look forward to read more of it.
And allow my suggesting ... Ignore the ones on Hub Pages, who without the credentials, would not hesitate a moment to raise the Syntax issue with Shakespeare.
Regards
Thanks Larry
You are a man after me own heart

Hope I can also carry

Great job Larry! Your imagery is outstanding. I'm glad I was able to enjoy them. Thanks.
Hey Larry - thanks for this Hub which I appreciate doubly! Firstly because it's gorgeously written, and secondly because Russ is a long-time personal friend who came to Hub Pages through my introduction! He's I think the only one who responded to my invitation to some of my friends last year some time. So thanks for paying such a lovely tribute to my friend, who is a beautiful person whom I am deeply honoured to know.
Love and peace

Hi Larry- just cruising for an infusion of your Haiku.
Thank you for inspiring my weekend indulgence in Haiku.
I visited your cherry blossom hub as well. You have done a nice job with this form. I've enjoyed your image-filled poetry and beautiful photos. Thank you.
This is really nice. You have a good flow and seemed to have jumped right in there. I feel like I could hurt myself if I tried that! Great Haiku!

FUN! Thanks- and thanks Micky Dee for calling my attention to this hub.
I like the Earth Haiku. These are nice collection. Beautiful pictures will make them complete though. :)
Haiku is hard to made. My head spinning everytime I tried to make one. Haaaard!
The brightest at death -- an interesting observation about the sun that I had never pondered before. Also can be said of human lives -- those people who live to the fullest and go out in full bloom. A nice dose of haiku action here. Glad I stopped to read and ponder. Cheers.
